3S CayCan Wallet

Now i'm not going to name any names but amongst the numerous wallet related kickstarter projects that I have seen there have been a number which (in my opinion) have been fairly expensive when you take a look at what you are getting in return. Wallet Manufacturers who seem to get away with selling overpriced wallets are often very talented marketers with slick videos, logos and sales pitches.

On the other hand I have also noticed Kickstarter projects which, despite the lack of a particlularly seductive video, offer extremely well finished and good value wallets.

The 3S CayCan (which was cancelled due to a lack of interest) is a good example of a wallet that offered extremely good value for money. While £20 spent elsewhere might only get you a piece of elastic sewn together at CayCan just £28 would have bagged you the the Silver Rain 3S CayCan wallet (Bellow).

Handmade by an obviously skilled metal worker, the wallet consisted of CNC milled stainless steel effect aluminium plates imported from Germany, leather panels and a satin ribbon. Customisable and offered at just £28 it's a shame that this Kickstarter project was not backed quite as readily as some upscaled elastic bands which have previously attracted over £100,000 of funding.

I hope that from now on when choosing projects to back we will all try to look past any shortcomings in marketing skills and concentrate more on the quality of the end product.
